Well since part of the AD's job is fund raising I hope he is going full speed at fund raising. LOL.

Anyway, that almost sounds like UH could have their new facility built a few years and have a Big 12 invite before SMU get's theirs built (if ever). But I am probably wrong about that.

They didn't have a problem laying off people when they had a huge billboard up across Central from campus that bragged about raising "A billion and change"

We are a university, not a jobs program. Donors like to give to organizations who are good fiduciaries, and run the organization efficiently. Gift money should go to scholarships, facilities or endowing professorships, not extra overhead.

I think gift money should go to where the donor requests.

$50M and the lead donor is a new name to the program. Not one of the traditional donors (i.e. Ford, Dedmans, Hunt, Sewell, etc.)

Didn't we kind of do that when we got the full size horses during the JJ days or was that just honoring his wife?

Wild guess here. Jerry Jones? I believe his wife is or was on the Board of Trustees. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
