I wondered the same thing. He is a Tech legacy who isn't getting an offer from them it appears. Wouldn't be surprised to see him walk-on at Tech though. Another guy I've wondered about is Solomon Orr from North Mesquite who is about 6-5, 300.

If Guidry's leaving,
perhaps we should throw a scholarship on a big body Project like this kid?

Isn't Orr from Mesquite and Webb from North Mesquite?
Saw Orr play Allrn, thought he was pretty good, made some nice trap blocks, didn't look that slow and moved his feet pretty well

Orr goes to Mesquite HS. He's listing Baylor, Oklahoma State, Arkansas State, SMU and UTEP, but reports no offers.
At his size, his 5.2 is pretty decent. One reason for the lack of offers could be that he reports only 12 reps on the bench (whereas many OLs report more than 20).

At 6-7, 315, 5.3 -- I have faith that Coach Vinklarek can make a player out of him, if he's not one already.

I agree with you. Coach V can teach, and if this guy has a couple of years to lift, practice and learn .... who knows? There might be a monster in here.

I realize I sound like BUS here, but I agree that you can't get too many big guys. Whether it's this Smith guy, Orr, Terry, or someone else, let's get some more hosses in the stable.
