Jarrey dunk

Postby LA_Mustang » Mon Feb 29, 2016 12:06 pm

JT and Ben give us impressive dunks practically every game but I thought Jarrey's follow-up dunk yesterday was one of the best of the season. We are slowly starting to see what he is capable of....

That was an awesome dunk. He is a high flyer for sure. Think he is getting more and more confident in his knee

No doubt. I think Jarrey is very confident in his ability but when a guy has a serious knee injury that young, it takes time to get over the mental hurdle.

I said this in another thread...or something like it:

Given LB's insistence on "playing the right way" I see no reason (today) why Jarrey doesn't crack the starting five on opening day next season. He has done everything he has been asked. He makes very few mistakes. Brown has to love him and have confidence in him. With continued improvement he is on the very same path as Sterling and Ben.

Next year's starting five on opening day:

Shake, Sterling, Jarrey, Semi, Ben.

(pretty darn close to LB's "five 6'7" guys")

Of course this is subject to change. The frosh participation could be immediate....or gradual. Emelogou might come back strong but I put Jarrey ahead of him right now.

If he stays healthy and improves year over year, he will replace Sterling for his JR & SR years

Unbelievably athletic dunk move. Very excited about his upside. He is like Ryan only a much more consistent all around player.

Jarrey will still come off the bench but will get more minutes. Starting 5 will be:

Shake
Sterling
Semi
Ben M
Ted

Gotta have a true post up center on the floor at all times or you get killed on the boards.

He definitely was a steal from a recruiting standpoint.
