You are way out on the limb here. Very controversial post.

If it hasn't been said yet, the senior recognition is at 7:30. Get there early and show them the love!

You know that the American Athletic Conference has got to be rooting hard for SMU to lose this one. This could mean NIT or NCAAs for UConn.
I fully expect to hear the N-I-T, N-I-T, N-I-T chant from the student section with about 3 minutes to go...let's send these guys there...
...and then let's send Cincy there as well this weekend.

So in the last 3 minutes of the last home game for the seniors you suggest chanting NIT at the opposing team? I suggest chanting something positive at our team. SMU-SMU-SMU seems like a good choice.

Tonight is about our guys. Everyone else in the AAC gets to play on for a chance to earn the auto - bid, so I agree any NIT chant is premature/inappropriate

I don't like UConn. The seniors will get plenty of love and applause as they exit the game up by 20. Students need to be into it and be rowdy. The old Mob would have insulted the other team, the other coach, the other players. You all are getting soft. Perhaps the student section will sing kumbya and chant SMU a couple of times like you suggest. Personally, I think the MOB should make the area around the UConn bench a living hell tonight. It should look like a 1970s-era Doors concert. Something Jim Morrison would be proud of.

I was trying to be nice by just suggesting a positive chant for our team. What i should have said more explicitly is that chanting NIT would be stupid. UConn has every chance to go to the NCAA tournament so us beating them does not doom them to the NIT tournament in any way. Therefore almost everyone will be confused about why he SMU crowd is chanting NIT. I am all in favor of railing on UConn but chanting NIT is not an effective way to do that.

Good - on same page. You are right- NIT=dumb. We want UCONN to go to NCAAs and win it all so we get a cut of the $$$ and perhaps a little more respect for our conference.

Posted this elsewhere:
UCONN's offense is downright ugly to watch. Ollie really rolls the ball out and lets them go play (mostly 1 v. 1).
I think the biggest keys tonight are keeping them (Brimah) off the offensive glass to limit second chance points and not fouling. While UCONN is top 5 in the nation in FT% (77.4%), they are one of the worst teams in terms of generating points from the line (337 nationally) (29% FTA/FGA).
If we can get Brimah to defend PnRs and get him moving rather than being stationary in the lane waiting to block shots, it's my hope that we can force him to pick up a few fouls. Without him in the middle, we can really attack the paint and leverage our superior ball movement skills.
Should be a fun night.

agree that Brimah was the difference in that 1st game. Need to make sure he is not a force tonight but also need to keep our bigs out of foul trouble
