That was something special tonight. SMU fans in their seats, nearly full house 20 mins before tip. And the fans brought it from beginnig to end. We will have good teams, maybe even great teams, and sterling and Ben will be similar next year but you really only get to feel and celebrate the turnaround once. That was tonight. F the hypocritical, lousy son of a [deleted] at the ncaa.

Completely agree! Last night was the culmination of an unbelievable 3 year ride with Nic and Markus and it will always be the best.

That was nice and the last 3 years have been amazing but when we get to hang a final four or national championship banner that will be better. Next year's team should have a lot of success but I think 17/18 is setting up to be the year.

That may have been my most outstanding and memorable SMU bball moment so far. I was so proud of those kids last night. Even though JT has only played one year here, it felt like it was a career. MK5 looked like he might mess around and get a triple double early on. And what can you say about Nic that hasn't already been said.

Like MK5 said, the stable is full. We are going to be just as sad to see Sterling and BMoore play their last game. We will come to love Semi like we do JT. Gu will come back strong after being in the system for 2 years. Shake will be fine next year. He's not Nic Moore, but nobody has been or ever will be. But he is an LB 1. Jarrey is going to be a big player next year. He finally looks like he's ready for it. The last few games have been a sign of things to come.

Mix in the freshman class, and we have the horses to keep it going.

Not saying there won't be bigger moments in the future, but like Hoop said, there can only be one first time.

I think that is the reason people get so worked up on this board about the DJ and the MOB. The experience of first year New Moody just can't be duplicated.

Oh I know we will keep it going just based on what's on the bench and what's coming in. I don't mean this as a slight to Nic in any way but Shake might end up better than Nic Moore when it is all said and done. Shake actually is a slightly better shooter when compared to Nics 1st year stats and his He has a solid 2-1 assists to TO ratio (Nic's 1st year was 2.5-1 but he was a redshirt-sophomore). What nic has is 5 years of coaching on how to be a point guard and competitive heart. Shake has better physical tools across the board. If he has the same fire and the desire to step up and be the man in big moments there is no reason to think he can't fill and even exceed Nic's shoes.

That would be awesome. The dynasty would have started with Manuel, CC and Nick Russell IMO. Nic and MK5 got us on the map, and the next few classes will deliver us.

Seems like a long time ago that Coach Doh recruited Ryan, CC, Shawn and Nic Russell and talked about SMU becoming the "Duke of Dallas". How long until we reach the Final Four and get to hang a National Championship banner?

Appreciate you posting that! Great write-up sums up a lot of what I was thinking last night. 30 years from now, I can't wait to say "Yeah, so-and-so is a great player, but you should've seen Sir Nic and MK5. Add in JT, and THAT was a great TEAM."

That's what made these guys so great. They bought into the fact that they were a part of a team, not by themselves. FOE wasn't just something they posted on Twitter. They were all in. LB has built a culture for this squad, not just a good team. He's setting this thing up to succeed for a long time.

Thanks to the seniors, last year's seniors, and all those to come.
