Yep. The play in games are now referred to the "first four" and the Thursday/Friday (field of 64) games are the "first round."

The first four are the first round now. The fields of 64 is now considered the 2nd round.

I don't want to challenge Sporting Life Arkansas but the rest of the internet disagrees with your claim. Here's the WSJ's story.

That is the way it was since 2011. Looks like they changed it just this year. But the first four was the first round before the recent change. And the Sporting Life bracket was right from NCAA.com from the 2014 season.

So you were wrong about how it is now?

The Ivy League will have a post season tourney next season for the time. The winner gets their automatic bid.

Just saw a Moody Madness sign in the stands of the Ole Miss/Alabama game. Of course it was for the Ole Miss player Stefan Moody.

Helps UCONN TOO.

Glad they won as they had the stones to do a home and home.

Uconn needs all the help they can get right looks like Cinci is about to send them home. And I think Michigan getting in steals a spot from the AAC.

Just looking around at other conferences to see where bid stealers might be, I see that the SunBelt has stacked the deck against underdogs. They have 11 teams, but only 8 make the tourney. On top of that 1-2 seeds get a double bye and 3-4 get a single bye. So 5-8 would have to win 4 games, 1-2 only have to win 2.
