What seed for SMU

Postby Terry Webster » Mon Mar 14, 2016 9:44 am

Where do you think we would have placed? It is tough to decide since we don't know how we would have done in the AAC tourney, but my best guess would that we would have gotten a 7 seed.

If tanked in AAC tourney (bounced in first game), 7 seed.

If lost in semis, 6 seed (maybe 7).

if lost in aac finals, 5 seed. (maybe 6)

if won the aac, 4 seed.

Where would SMU have been seeded if it were eligible for the NCAA Tournament?

Second time I fell for that. Link not working - something went terribly wrong.

I believe we would have been a 5 or 6 seed.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

The article said "..a number of infractions." I thought we only had ONE infraction.

I think we would have come in at a 3 or 4 seed. 5 seed at worst. You have to remember that many pollsters left us off their list or just did not rank us where we deserved to be ranked due to the probation bias. Had we not been on probation and these voters voted as they should, I think we would have finished in the top 15 before the conference tourney.
