He must not have watched LSU’s Johnny Jones do less with more, or our own LB and TJ, who could coach up a bunch of zombie kindergartners, if they had to.

With that perspective, a tiny budget, and sub-par facilities, I just don’t see Tulane having a competitive program.

Yeah, I thought Conroy recruited decently well there given the limitations

Unfortunately, that is their problem. They simple don't have "enough" of anything to field a competitive program at the AAC level. IMHO - they would have been better off in the CUSA.

I understand Boston College staying in the ACC over moving to the American given the huge discrepancy in pay. However, Tulane would probably be much better off in CUSA over the American given their lack of fans, money, resources, etc. If they recruit at the same level at least in CUSA they will be competitive. All parties involved would likely be better off.

There is only one reason Tulane belongs in the American:

I like going to NOLA to see the Mustangs.

Period.

CUSA won't be around in 5 years. Certainly not in football.
There will be attrition in football programs as the funding from media dries up and the gap between the haves and have nots widens. CUSA is at the bottom of the revenue barrel but their costs are still D1.

So for Tulane to go CUSA means gracefully throwing in the towel. They won't leave the AAC given their new football stadium investment.

Well, everyone thought UAB was going away and then they're suddenly back, with more support than they've had in years. JMU has long had D-1 aspirations, Coastal Carolina is moving up to D-1, and Liberty has been throwing tons of money into its program in the hopes of building something. Obviously this is anecdotal evidence and doesn't dispel the funding issues, but it still seems like a large number of programs want to ramp up rather than deescalate.

As for Bryce, i not familiar with what he has been offered and turned down. Was it a P5 job?

Forget which ones but yes. Some talking heads said he is more loyal than his brother and is waiting for a few other schools to open up to make a move.

Tulane friend said they aren't going to open the wallet like we did for Larry

FUN FACT
Or, not so fun but,......Scott and Bryce's father Homer, graduated Frank Hamphsire High School exactly nine years after Jimmy Krebs. Too bad the powers that be at the Hilltop didn't recruit him.
