I seriously doubt there are a dozen schools in the world outside of US & Canada with endowments over $1.5 Billion, in other words, SMU is in the Top 80 in the world.

These rankings are about three years old and can not vouch for their authenticity and accuracy but you're right on the money. SMU is comfortably in the top 75!SoCal_Pony wrote:I seriously doubt there are a dozen schools in the world outside of US & Canada with endowments over $1.5 Billion, in other words, SMU is in the Top 80 in the world.

I though our endowment was around $1.5 billion before the 2d Century push which brought in an additional $1 billion. Though I looked up that initial figure several years back.

2 things: 1) The endowment took a hit in the last financial crisis (as did all investments) but is well above pre-financial crisis level. 2) most of that $1 bn capital campaign did not go to the endowment. It was heavily geared towards overhauling the university's facilities and campus.PoconoPony wrote:I though our endowment was around $1.5 billion before the 2d Century push which brought in an additional $1 billion.
