Mr. Emmert / NCAAI watched his (head of the NCAA) interview after the last game yesterday. He really seemed thoughtful and respectful. I couldn't help searching his email and sending this note to him. Before you crucify me for grammar and writing skills remember I am a huge fan and put my money where my mouth is, but I am not an english major by any means.
Mr. Emmert, I am an SMU fan and have watched the NCAA comment on schools and make punishment decisions on schools over the last few years. The punishment to SMU was completely overboard and harsh compared to infractions and punishments at other universities. It should/could be corrected by adding back some scholarships to the SMU program. The number of scholarships taken was absolutely and completely unfair. We turned ourselves in when we could have covered this up, we do realize Larry Brown messed up in the early stages of this investigation process but quickly corrected himself. If this is the reason to punish more kids its wrong, you could have doubled his personal penalty. In the March Madness TBS interview you sounded extremely concerned about doing the right thing for kids, if that is true then please do the right thing by correcting this wrong. Several kids will go without a scholarship due to the overreaching loss of scholarships by the NCAA and almost seemed personal to SMU fans. The selective punishment is getting old and most people in the real world don't have much respect for the NCAA's selective policies. It makes you look really bad when it is generally the smaller schools being hammered while the money makers get a pass. See Florida State past if you need an example. In addition, it was fun watching the big money school UNC go to the final four while we watched at home, I expect what they have done is astronomically worse and pales in comparison. You seem like a thoughtful good guy, please do the right thing here.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAThank you Stangs1970 for making the effort and caring enough to write to President Emmert.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAYeah but its kind of like writing to the President to get the Supreme Court to reverse the 5th Circuit
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAI am sure it won't matter but I feel better.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAYour comments are right on target. It hurts to see UNC and Syracuse running up and
down an NCAA court. I must confess - it is fun seeing them play; however, both teams making it to a Final Four is a travesty when their sins are much greater than that of SMU. Thanks for writing Emmert. Let us know if you get a response. I''d be surprised.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAmay have missed it, but shocked nobody posted Emmert's comments on Syracuse:
Brad WolvertonVerified account @bradwolverton Emmert: Syracuse players had “nothing to do with those [academic fraud] sanctions and they should be allowed to play.” Jay BilasVerified account @JayBilas Jay Bilas Retweeted Brad Wolverton So, UConn players, Louisville players, SMU players, and so many others: you're innocent, too, but can pound sand. More evidence of the commie regime that is the NCAA
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAwhat do u know - he's a Syracuse alum
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAOh my....you just can't make this stuff up.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAWow. Emmert should be fired today. Like at the final four. So he's a Syracuse alum and no doubt fan. Meanwhile has it now taken the ncca longer to hear our scholly appeal than it did to do our whole investigation? We could use some good PR from winning appeal.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAWell written. In the last couple of days the New York Times had a long story about the absurdity of this Final Four and the NCAA investigations. It is a huge embarrassment and the NCAA needs to atone for what they have done to us.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAI agree that PR would be nice, but I much prefer the PR from Bruno committing!
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAWell, we missed a great chance at some equal treatment when 'Nova and their 6th man, the officials, beat UNC. Don't see the NCAA actually punishing UNC now...so I guess we'll get hit for a show-cause instead.
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAA
Every time I see that smug POS interviewed I want to punch my TV. Party at The Wopper!
Re: Mr. Emmert / NCAAThe pic of Emmert and Jordan from yesterday is annoying. Emmert looks like a lil fanboy.
