I agree. After signing day, I will be the first to step up to the plate and declare the sky is falling, if indeed it is.

Sure, the JUCO signing day was disappointing, especially from the standpoint of a lack of QBs. However, saying we are getting "humiliated" is a bit of an exageration. Harrell makes, what, two players that we have offered that have chosen non-BCS schools over us? That is absolutely NOT getting humiliated.

Sure, we aren't on the lists for the area top 300 or whatever. I have no idea why. But the fact of the matter is that we aren't even offering them, for whatever reason. From what the lists look like right now, not only are they not claiming an interest in us, but we aren't showing interest in them.

I don't know why that is. But I suspect that the picture is going to get a heck of a lot clearer in early/mid January.

Making rash and hard judgments at this point in time is overly harsh and a bit out of place. Voicing concern is one thing, and I think is probably the correct reaction at this point in time. But ripping on people or whatever is way, way overboard right now.

Lets see what happens by mid-january, and if nothing turns up, then we can start freaking out... until then, tone it down a bit.

While I generally am probably considered a "sunshiner," I am disappointed with the way we have lost on a lot of talent. It is a vicious circle that seems to continue. It is easy to sit and blame Bennett, but that is wrong. He has enthusiasm. This is not the issue or problem. The problem is the administration and AD. We need some real desire and spark. Give a damn or get out. It is becoming the biggest embarrassment ever.

If you would take the time and do some research on rivals for yourself, you would see that the answer is exactly ONE. Harrell is the ONLY prospect this year who has reported an offer from SMU and turned it down to go to Tulsa. ONE.

So CHILL OUT. I was frustrated with the lack of JUCOs also. If, after mid January, things are still up in the air I'll be getting frustrated about how recruiting is going in general. But give things some time to fall into place before you complain so much...

JasonB when did you become such a blind cheerleader.Your Quote: "Sure we haven't been getting any players from the Top 300" "but the fact is we haven't offered them." How can anyone be so naive! You mean we just decided to pass on the Top 100 players in the Metroplex this year. We got beat on ALL OF THEM. This is our backyard goldmine as Bennett tells the LATimes. We have gotten whipped.

Signing day is only a little more than a month off. That is too close to have to face the reality that we are getting our [deleted] kicked when it comes to recruiting. Suggest that we go into the "wait five years to see how they perform as seniors before we make the evaluation" spin. We will know for sure then that we got our [deleted] handed to us, but, hey, it's five years off!

Don't forget the 13 scholarship spin either! We are being very SELECTIVE because we has so few scholarships available. Problem is that, counting conservatively, I still come up with 17 to 18 available.

Bottom line is that this is a bad recruiting year no matter how they spin it. Fire Copeland!

Do any of you remember Bennet's quote regarding moving Tate Wallis back to QB? Something like "maybe Cavan didn't know what he had." The evaluator spin is also very prominent when you are getting your [deleted] kicked! Which we are! But, hey, we are making progress.

I am not a blind cheerleader. I am just patient enough to wait until after the milk is spilled before I start crying.
