When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Blackie Sherrod Died?-I Didn't Even Know He Was Still AlBut I still read his column religiously as a kid growing up.
Re: Blackie Sherrod Died?-I Didn't Even Know He Was Still AlHad the exact same thought as the title of this thread, Stallion. I could've sworn he had passed at least ten or fifteen years ago. It's interesting to occasionally come across one of us older guys who start a sentence with the word "scattershooting."
Re: Blackie Sherrod Died?-I Didn't Even Know He Was Still AlHeh,
I too loved reading the "scattershooting" growing up, and yes, I too assumed he had died long ago. This is one of the rare cases when you are shocked at someone still being alive rather than that they died. He was a heavy smoker and drinker too for most of his life. Props to making to 96 with that going on and RIP. Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
Re: Blackie Sherrod Died?-I Didn't Even Know He Was Still AlScattershooting was awesome. I looked forward to that every week.

Re: Blackie Sherrod Died?-I Didn't Even Know He Was Still AlI used to deliver the Dallas Times Herald (on my Sears Moped) and I enjoyed reading Blackie's columns in the paper as I was folding the issues prior to delivery every afternoon.
Re: Blackie Sherrod Died?-I Didn't Even Know He Was Still AlBack in the day, remembering the DMN and the DTH battling it out for newspaper supremacy...Bob St. John, Bill McClanahan, Sam Blair, Blackie, and a newcomer Randy Galloway. Good times.
Rest in peace, William. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: Blackie Sherrod Died?-I Didn't Even Know He Was Still AlDon't forget SMU's Jim Dent.
