Interesting angle on recruiting from that article. Put them on a degree plan so that they graduate in 3.5 years. With his size, he is obviously a redshirt candidate. That allows him to bulk up and be a graduate transfer to a P5 school if he develops as expected and SMU is struggling for whatever reason.

Solid list of offers: Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Fresno State, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Tulsa
If he grows and improves as much as that story makes it sound like he can, that list should grow.

Just means they will graduate in December as opposed to May. A lot of our players are already doing that. They can start work on their master's degree like some other athletes here have done. It's all good. :D

I agree. Going to probably have to fight to hold on to him which this staff is not afraid to do. Defensive MVP of the State Championship Game.

Great get and I think it will be a fight to keep him but I would not call his current offer list solid at all.

Red shirt a year and put on the pounds my man. You have the motor to eat up some QB's.

We have to grow our own and he looks like he can grow!!!

Thanks coaches and welcome to the family Toby.

i would expect this staff to beat out that list - Cincinnati is the only one on it to worry about. Others will likely show up.

I wonder if they're locked in on him as a defensive end, or if his size might cause a move to linebacker?

He's stand up Weak-side DE all the way. Ideal weight would project to about 6-3, 255. He actually has a little bit better frame than Michael Badejo who we signed for this position last year

if he puts on weight and has a strong senior season, we can expect some P5 offers to follow
