Now the AP: Column: Baylor should pull plug on its athletic program
More than a decade ago, Baylor was at the center of a sordid scandal involving murder and drugs, leading to some of the harshest penalties the NCAA has ever doled out.
Apparently, the Bears didn't learn their lesson.
Now, with the school accused of covering up numerous cases of sexual assault involving the football team, it's time to go a step further.
Pull the plug on Baylor's entire athletic program.
For good.
If the death penalty isn't appropriate now, it never will be. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/column-baylor-pull-plug-athletic-program-213806557--ncaaf.html

Take it with a grain of salt, but BaylorFans says that the Baylor Bears Foundation phones have been ringing off the hook with demands for ticket/donation refunds. No more calls will be taken until Tuesday

Word from the Auburn Family is that Mond is in discussions with Gus, and the Auburn staff. Most say he is headed to AU but Ohio State would be tough competition. Either way he is not going to be a Baylor bear

I don't want Baylor to cancel their season because I want to see smu play a game on September 10, but these things have a way of snowballing and realization sets in. Like when smu cancelled the second season for dp. This is an epic problem for Baylor, none of those assistants can be retained for this season and the cries will get louder and louder as the media days approach.

BU needs a coach more similar to Strong than Brown at this point

After another season like the last two, UT may let Baylor have Strong.

Morris isn't going anywhere near Waco now.
I've yet to see any of these paranoid folks make a coherent case as to WHY Morris would actually prefer that job over his current one.
Big 12>AAC, BU facilities>SMU facilities, Baylor's commitment > SMU's commitment currently.

BU is a huge question mark moving forward in terms of administrative support and recruits' perception....plus you're in the Big 12 where Texas isn't going to stay down much longer, OU is an elite program, and TCU, Okie State, WVU and Tech aren't easy outs either. If Chad stays at SMU (making $2M+ annually and living in HP) and wins, he has unlimited job security and can wait for the perfect opportunity to open up. He'd be taking a big risk going to Baylor...why force it?

Brown ran a pretty loose ship at UT, so I wouldn't thing they would want a Brown type at BU.

Baylor will probably recover about like Penn State has.
