Getting Charlie is huge. Football IQ is off the charts, throws a beautiful pass, doesn't get rattled when protection breaks down and can run the ball with the best of them. Aside from that, Charlie is a good young man. He is a leader both on and off the field. He will be on the field at SMU sooner than you might think. This is also big for another recruit, Cade Brewer, no relation. Since committing to SMU, Cade has received offers from Texas A&M, Oregon State, Kansas State and Purdue. While I want to think that his commitment is solid, this helps as Cade and Charlie have been best friends since elementary school. That connection and familiarity shows on the football field. Hopefully with Charlie now committed and Cade's cousin already on the SMU football squad, Cade doesn't get sucked in to the A&M hype.

Who is Cade's cousin?

Brewer and McBride great fits for the Morris O. Should be great competition next year. Morris will not hesitate to use a young guy based on what he's seen from Hicks and Colbert.

Reading between the lines footballdad is saying Morris isn't particularly pleased with Colbert and Hicks?

He has been running HCCM's type of offense for a few years now. Also he is not short at 6'1 and a quarter. Very good delivery. Solid 3 star recruit with 5 FBS offers. Top 50 ranked QB in country and 8th ranked QB in the state. This is a big time commitment for the SMU program imo.

I think he had finally seen enough after the 60 attempts, with 2 completions in the Spring game.

A Texas QB, with his stats, competition level, and pedigree......you kind of wonder where the P5 offers are? Would assume a few show up after he puts up big numbers again his Senior year. Great fit for the offense, and the Morris/Travis connection are what make this commit potentially 'big time'.
