Agreed. This is not going away. I also think a problem they have is who is in a position to hire their next HC, who is in a position to answer the tough questions any HC candidate would ask before accepting the job and what salary are you going to pay him. At $4.2M annually, AB was one of the highest paid HCs in CF. If you pay the next HC a comparable salary, especially after just firing AB's, what message does that send?

I hate to say it, but I get the feeling PB is in just as deep and anyone else on this one.

yes all great questions because no one is sure of the next dominoes to fall?
i'm sure there are frantic discussions behind closed doors of how much they can salvage from this train-wreck?
do they try and pretend the crisis ends with Briles and Starr's heads?
they may be buying time to see if that will be enough?
I would think Bennett and the rest of this staff will have to go to quiet the wolves
maybe bring in Singletary on a tentative short term deal on the cheap?
Since this is mainly a criminal matter....will they not lose scholarships? TV? Bowl Appearances?
If the NCAA does nothing and it is a criminal and liability "pay the victims off" issue only, then maybe Baylor can salvage the train-wreck?

I think it is Chip and Joanna Gaines. They seem to be doing everything else in Waco these days.

Such a Baylor hire. "Let's go get a guy who has coached at a Baptist university before."

That is exactly the kind of hire it is. Wonder what they are paying a guy for 7 months tops.

I'll contend that Grobe winning an ACC title at Wake Forest is one of the most impressive coaching jobs of this young century

seems like they are hiring a good coach with clean record so spotlight will be on him during transition rather than other assistants who might be drawn into the apparent on-going investigation. With only 2 months until fall practice I can understand why Baylor thinks this is the best way to go. Then after the season when heat has subsided, they go get a new coach
