I think we have the ability to agree to disagree. After all we need to get along for the chipmunks.

Yes we must set an example on how you can actually get along and disagree - like in the parallel universe

mrydel wrote:To get back on to the previous subject I would like to reiterate my personal position. I certainly have no problem with a player decommitting. I also have no problem with Morris pulling the commitment of the player continues visits after committing. I believe they both work equally and independently. If you are going to stay committed there is no reason to visit others. Either do not commit and visit your tail off or decommit and visit until you are ready to commit. I feel like it had morphed into me being against decommitting. Actually that is what should be done if your are going to keep visiting.

The problem for the players is the 5 'official' visits, that are fully paid by the school, that encompass about 2.5 days, that include transportation, lodging and 3 meals per day for both the player and a parent/guardian.......all happen right at the end of the process. This is the one they all covet, where the school and staff really roll out the red carpet. Some kids and families literally can't afford to visit schools half way across the country, without this benefit.

If everyone followed the 'don't commit until you've taken all your visits and you're sure' model, the schools and coaches would have a mad scramble at the end that would make the process a lot more difficult for both sides.

Far from a perfect system, but it's worked fairly well up to this point. An early signing period may be the next step.

Early signing, which I would like, would entail early official visits. Why can't they take official visits early now? Again, just decommit and take your visits. But it is just as bad to lead the school on as it is bad when a coach drops a commit late.

I know. Football dad said he could not afford the unofficials. You need to un-foe him so you know what is being said.

He's not on my team . He relishes in our failures and what's obvious.

More than likely not even a season ticket holder or a mustang club member

Did I mention I'm pumped about basketball this year

Petty little b*tches can't stay on topic, always trying to make it personal, insecurities obvious.
