Glad no one took 11. That number is going up in the rafters.

Re: Updated roster
Sterling=Draymond Green.
Thoughts?
If he's putting on muscle, maybe a good comparison. Can make the 3 ball and is a feisty junkyard dog with size who can play pretty much any position.

Before jumping to too many conclusions: has anybody asked if THATS a typo? Anybody seen a 230 pound Sterling around?
And Ojai: I figured at 215 with his skill set he'd be more of an Igoudala comparison.

Interesting that Courtland Sutton is still listed on the basketball roster.

Re: Updated roster
I think Houston is going to be in the top third more often than not in the coming years. That makes for a brutal two game road trip down Texas way for the eastern schools.

Re: Updated roster
AAC will have 4 or 5 this season.
Semi is the best player on the team, and the most athletic player to play at SMU in a long, long time. Sterling, Ben, Shake and Semi are all draftable players.
Ben will need to work on his lateral quickness a bit more and continue to improve his mid-range jumper so that he can be a 3-4 swing in the NBA. I like the Derrick McKey comparisons I have seen in the past.
Sterling doesn't have the length of the Matrix... He is a strong player, good defensively, and obviously hits his shots. I think he is a 2-3 in the NBA. I think he will be a better NBA player than his brother. Bruce Bowen is the guy that always comes to mind for me. A little different body type, but the same intensity and ability to hit the open jumper. Maybe Danny Green? Obviously I am a Spurs fan...
Shake I think has the chance to be a lottery pick after this season if he takes the next step. He is rare with the control over his body and the game. Good athleticism but always in control. Very good pure shooter. Good size. We saw int he Tulsa game that he needs to work on his lateral quickness defensively to guard the point, especially in the NBA. And he needs to be able to drive left, because he was stopped in penetration by hanging on his right the second half of the year and it frustrated him. But his overall game from shooting, passing, scoring, and length to rebound as a guard is rare. If his defense continues to evolve scouts will drool. I mentioned Jordan last year, which everyone ripped on. I don't think he will be as good as Jordan or anything like that. I was making the statement that his overall game is good, but his aura of control is unique.
With the rule changes, wing players are super important because if you get one that can drive, it is foul city. Semi's athleticism on the wing becomes really, really important. It will be interesting to see if Larry figures out how to play at a quicker pace to keep the lack of overall size on the team from becoming a hindrance. Even if for some reason Semi doesn't max out potential at SMU, he will get drafted because of all the measurables. If Larry IS able to max out his potential, watch out.

Re: Updated roster
What do you base your claim (Semi is best player) on? Have you seen him play? I haven't. I don't know. I hope you're right, because Ben Moore and Sterling Brown and Shake are pretty good, and if Semi is better, that's good for us. I'm not challenging you -- just curious about your thinking.
