if we have a decent crowd tonight and at least offset Boomer Sooner, I expect SMU to compete pretty well. In the second half, the strength of Bookout and Taj Gray will probably win out, but I think we will do better than most people think. We certainly are due for an upset one of these days.

I will definitely be there, but I expect Sooner fans to outnumber SMU fans 3-to-1.

DM75 will be there, but his attendance is being negated by the attendance of his daughter that attends OU.
Sorry folks, but OU has one of the best technical theater departments in the country, and one of only 3 schools that offer a stage management degree. She attends OU for the academics, not the football.
Just send 'da money.

You must be louder than your daughter.
If SMU wins, you'll be forgiven for sending her there, instead of to SMU.
I'll be there!
GO MUSTANGS!

you might be right, its hard to say. I would hope SMU would draw out at least 2500 who will root for us. I'm guessing no more than 5000 Sooner faithful. Thats 7500 fans, which sounds about right to me given there is no hype for the game, unlike when Bob Knight was here a few years ago. I guess being outnumbered 2-1 is really just as bad as 3-1. If it turns into Lloyd Noble South, our guys will have a hard time.
The other teams get a huge emotional lift when they see their fans takeover someone else's arena. Its almost as good as being at home for them, and probably a bit demoralizing for our guys. We did hold our own crowd noise wise against Tech when we beat them a few years back, but the students were here for that unlike tonight.

I think the line is 7.5
I just looked online and it gave me seats in Section H (visitor's) row 11.
I would suspect maybe 5-6K? Yes, Sooners 3-1 outnumbered

DM75, don't be sorry. Your daughter just made a poor decision. Going to okla. isn't going to land her a career in theatre. Connections will. That is where SMU would blow doors over ou. Theatre people know SMU, yale ithica, ucla, carnigie mellon, northwestern, emerson, and a lot of others come to mind.
Go Ponies!

There were 3152 in attendance for the TCU game, with approx. 500 TCU fans (as far as I could tell). Assuming a few more SMU fans will show up considering OU's great basketball reputation, I would say there will be 3000 SMU fans in attendance. That will be offset by at least 5000 OU fans. 8000 fans almost fills Moody. Let's hope our fans are as loud as BlowU's.

You are correct as for performing arts in theater, but not for technical theater. We looked at SMU, but SMU just didn't have the degree and the reputation for the technical side. OU does have a great reputation for the technical theater and a lot of connections with NY (that is where Broadway is located). She will do fine.
If she was an actress or film production major, then SMU is hands down better than OU. But for live technical theater, OU has the upper hand.
Just send 'da money.

I would suggest she go to Tyler Technical Theater Community College for 2 years, but I am sure that SMU would not allow her hours to transfer.

You really think there were 3K in the building? That seemed quite inflated to me. Maybe they were counting the parking attendants.

I recall remarking to my dad that "it seems like there's about 2500 here tonight" and he agreed with me. So 3K may be a little inflated, but from where I was sitting (section G) it seemed like about 2500 were there. And I was near the TCU fans, and there were no more than 500 of them. We had at least 2000 of our own kind there...though our 2000 couldn't match with the noise the Alumni Band made. They were loud especially toward the end of the game.

there was no way Tcu had 500 fans the other night. I'd guess 100, maybe. The crowd was decent, but its pretty hard to distinguish 2500 from 3000 by sight.

you knew I couldn't help but weigh in on this one. We'll do well to draw as many as 6,000 for this game. My guess is that SMU will have as many as 3000 including students and our loyal season ticket holders (and some closet SMU fans in the area), so it's all up to Okla to outdraw SMU if we hope to draw 6000 for this one.
Judging from the shots from all access, looks like most of our fans didn't get the message the game date was changed
