Re: Big XII Expansion
It is interesting. If I run any university, I am excited about the prospects of joining the Big XII. That being said, if I run one of these universities, I am absolutely calling every other conference up until the day I sign in the dotted line. The Big XII is a one-way open marriage. I will gladly join but I am calling the ACC every day.
The Big XII may have started this, but I wonder if they are going to get first choice.

Re: Big XII Expansion
I think the PAC-12 is SMU's best bet.It makes the most sense for us and them, if they want to expand. Adding Houston and SMU would open the Texas market for PAC-12. Many California residents are already moving to Texas.
My dream conference for SMU would be SEC. We could another Vanderbilt or a sleeping giant. Again SMU and Houston could do this for SEC.
Unfortunately, we aren't very attractive by ourselves. We are like that new graduate with some good qualities, but a low GPA in English trying to find an employer that will hear us out.

If you read his tweet it says he backs them being considered nowhere does he say he fully supports them

Their fans go to games. Our fans complain on message boards because people don't go.
They are in the Big 12. We are not.

Pac 12 didn't want to expand from Pac 10 originally. Further expansion not on the table into the distant future.
SEC?? Puh-lease

In email to ESPN, SMU claims it has reached out to Big 12 to express interest in membership. "We have unique assets. … in particular, our institutional profile, tradition of athletic success and location in Dallas."
