1. Yes we want in the Big XII. Period.
2. We are not on the ACC's radar in any way. There are three or four better options right off the bat - WVU, UConn, and even Tulane or Cincy. WVU is becoming a realistic option with the GOR ticking away, and now that the ACC Network is in place they would most likely take that option in a heartbeat. (Frankly, they'd be doing the Big XII a favor in a way, allowing them to get back to a tighter geographical footprint and not having to bring in a travel partner for them). UConn is a geographical fit with other old Big East Schools. Tulane is SMU East, 500 miles closer to any ACC school. Besides, if the ACC brought us in they'd have to bring in another school somewhere close by, and that ain't happening.

So once again... the Pac12, Big12, and ACC are not options... yay
Re: Rick Hart & Mizzou
BigXII is an option, even if it's a long shot.
Pac12, SEC, ACC, and B1G are not options right now.

Re: Rick Hart & Mizzou
First the Big XII can't add ND without ND having to pay the ACC. Second, the ACC can't take WVU off the hands of the Big XII without paying the Big XII. For that reason, WV won't be going anywhere. As I've said all along the TV suits will make these decisions. Apparently, ESPN and Fox don't want the Big XII to expand because it waters down their brand and increases network costs by $20 Million per team. Apparently, UH, and others don't move the needles very much. So, the only way the Big XII can expand and keep the suits happy is to poach from ACC. VT, Clemson, FSU are the logical targets. I don't see Virginia Tech leaving the ACC for the Big XII. Their fans hate WVU who would become their travel partner. Also they fought too hard to get into ACC. Clemson and FSU would be more pliable for a change of scenery and they would move the TV needles for the conference. Of course they'd have to pay a huge exit fee to the ACC.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Unless the Big 12 convinces them to trade teams (say WF for WVU), the ACC is NOT an option anytime soon - PERIOD. The Big 12 could add Florida State and Clemson in 2017 and it wouldn't help the B12 TV situation because the ACC owns their TV rights for a very LONG time.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!

The first part of your post about ND is correct. Unfortunately, however, the rest about the ACC and Big XII is backwards.
The ACC just replaced their $50M exit fee with a GOR through '36-37 - FSU and the others aren't going anywhere:

The Big XII, on the other hand, has it's GOR expiring in about 6 years. As such, the Big XII is walking into a danger area with enough time for a conference to poach one of it's teams with just enough years left on the current contract to get ready for the new member, with no cost to the new conference - it's the whole reason why the Big XII is starting to panic and be forced into a round of expansion it really doesn't want right now. They need to solidify their membership, get a championship game, and do it with enough time to convince UT and OU to resign on the GOR deal.

And we are never off anyone in the TV business's radar from are market and location. We have warts, no doubt, but our warts are largely curable with some time and cash infusion, and we are sitting on a pile of money in or market. TCU is in it as well, but like us, TCU doesn't close the door. All competently run networks are aware.
Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!

The current Big 12 GOR runs through the 2024-2025 season. The Pac-12 GOR does expire before then.
