from what I hear we are recruiting a 6-0 190 pound PLATOON Junior College QB who ran a 4.95 Forty in high school and that hasn't even earned the full-time starting job in JUCO. But I may just be whistling Dixie right Stampede. I'm sure everybody will come on here and claim he is the next Johnny Unitas. LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR-Don't blame Bennett for that. He found the guys he wanted and yet the university turned them down. Teams we compete against did not turn them down. Advantage Opponent.

You are not just whistling Dixie but are sticking your head in the sand, Stallion, by passing judgement on a player whom, best guess is you have never seen play a down live or on tape.

Rest assured Coach Bennett and several of our coaches have watched him and done their homework on any QB getting an offer to play for the Mustangs.

As they say in your business..."defense rests"...but, in this case, the jury will not be able to decide this one for a couple of years.

well I haven't seen him play but there was not a Coach in Division 1A who thought enough to offer the guy a scholarship either. What makes a slow 6-0 QB who can't even earn the starting job in JUCO and was only offered Division 1-AA offers just last year such a "HOT" prospect this year. What happened during the last 11 months to change that. Why didn't he sign on the JUCO signing date like 90% of the quality mid-term JUCOs-heck school starts within days. He ain't a HOT prospect. We are just desperate because we've been turned down by about 15 or so QBs already.

Be consistent Stallion...have they turned us down or, as you have speculated in past posts, couldn't get admitted?

Hey I've never said SMU should fire a single coach since the DP with the possible exception of Shumate. I cut the coaches more slack than just about anyone-its the Model not coaching which is to blame for the last 17 years.

Stallion mad a very strong point. Or I should say THE point.

We all love SMU but none of us have the power to change the model. He is right, that we should have signed a JUCO QB and it was most likely ( hell, I don't have PROOF ) an admittance issue that kept the coach from being able to do so.

We all agree.

Just read on the stallion network, aka Rivals, that Omar Haugabook is down to those two power house academic and athletic schools, Troy State and Marshall.

I would say that Marshall is heading backwards and Troy is not exactly ringing the bell yet. They did beat Missouri LAST YEAR.
