Opposing coach on Zach Rhodes

Postby Pony Up » Wed Jan 04, 2006 11:34 am

This is from Seguin coach Jim Carson:

“That Rhodes kid is incredible,” Carson said of the Unicorn quarterback, who was 12 of 29 passing and rushed for a team-high 65 yards. “I’m certainly glad he’s going to graduate. I hope he doesn’t have a little brother. He’s tormented us for the last two years.”

It's always flattering when your coach gushes about you. But when an opposing coach heaps praise on you (especially after a game, when he's not just spewing flattering comments to avoid bulletin board material), that sometimes carries a little more weight. Coach Carson sounds truly thankful that Rhodes is headed to the Hilltop. I'm starting to feel that way, too.
