Longhorn68: Well, this year I was at 4 SMU home games + 1 away game; 2 LSU home games + SEC championship game; the Tennessee-Notre Dame game; I own 2 SMU & 2 LSU season tickets; Mustang Club & TAF member. Oh, and the guest bedroom in my house is decorated with two walls painted purple and gold, and two others red and blue, with a Dickerson Jersey and the panoramic view of GJF stadium on one side and Tiger Stadium on the other side. If that equates to a non-fan, well...I tried.

FWIW, I don't like USC because of the crap I had to hear a couple of years ago when they "shared" the nat'l title with LSU; I haven't been a UT fan since the Cotton Bowl when they played LSU. After the game, I flew out to east Texas on business; my then-pregnant wife flew back on Southworst to Harlingen...on a flight that stopped in Austin. Snide comments made to a pregant woman don't sit too well. Since priority #1 is keeping momma happy, I'd be foolish to pull for UT.

However, LHFan68, I'm am grateful to have you as a pony fan also.

I am hoping for an Earthquake during the kickoff that will suspend the game and then.

If that fails, I was at the last bowl game that Texas had a chance to win a championship at in 1978 at the Cottonbowl and with the drubbing they received and the number of crying Texas fans all around me have led a lifetime of rooting aginst UT in most instances. So count me in as a fan of Bush. Besides, who doesn't love Bush.

So the actions of a few people masquerading as Texas fans indicates the attitude and manners of all Texas fans? Damn, what a shame.

Like I always say..

"I pull for SMU with my heart.. and TEXAS with my brain." Went to the Rose Bowl last year and took my Dad, who is a UT alum. Just wished I could do the same thing this year. Incredible place.. it's like dropping a 100,000 seat stadium in the middle of Highland Park. It's right in the middle of a residential area.

How can you not cheer for Texas tonight?!? Are you not from Texas? Hell, I'd cheer for any Texas team against a California team.. even aggy or sand aggy.

Hook'em!
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

I would like to see UT to win just to stop the constant 30 part "Is USC the best team ever" crap on ESPN. But as for the game I hope it is 57-56 with Texas going for 2 with no time on the clock to win.

Seriously can ESPN shut up about how great USC is? Their USC versus the best 11 was the worst thing I have seen.

Case in point when it was USC vs. Miami '01 Herbstreit and May couldn't find anything that USC would win at. However, after five minutes of saying Miami D would kick USC's O in the balls...Mark May still says USC would win.

yes, the love fest for sc is a bit much. it drives me crazy.

The Rose Bowl is a beautiful place. Nothing like Pasadena in January. I grew up just the other side of the Arroyo, so I know it well.

So no, I'm not from Texas, and sorry 68, but I have to root against ut.

Fight On.

I'm tired of hearing how USC is the greatest team ever on ESPN.

I am tired of hearing how UT is the greatest team from UT football players!! It is ridiculous. They really need to get some class. Better yet go to a few.

Regardless, The difference is the coach!

Contrary to popular belief, you can pull for the 'other team' and still be a Texan.
