I'm always a little nervous when SMU ends up n the NCAA.com web site.

Last month Sterling Was reported to be 235 lbs. Now he's the point guard?

He is very quickly establishing himself as "international man of mystery."

The good news here: Both Ben and Sterling are approaching 100 starts.

I see them as poised to lead.

I can't ever remember Sterling running the point at SMU but Jank is going to have so many options with lineups. Outside of Harry, I believe every player on the roster can play multiple positions on both ends of the floor. The ironic thing is this is exactly how LB wanted the roster. He woulda/coulda/shoulda had a blast coaching this group. Oh well, it's Jank's time. Hope he's ready.

One more note, this 2017 class will be very important. I think everyone has a concern there might be a drop off in talent with LB gone. Hopefully Jank, KT, Duncan, Forrest and Hobbie can keep the 50-150 level guys coming in. Have Whitt already in the class is a great start.

'17 class is really unique. Lots of coaching turnover but still remarkable stability. That said, a very short cycle for 2 of our 3 road guys. Still, I think we lead for a few kids we really want. Its a really wide net, considering LBs timing, having to search for Forrest in July, bumping Duncs and Stout. Jank has handled the HR side of the program like a boss. We may get who we really want on the trail, too. Doubled edged sword b/c we're not after elite MCD AA type. Next cycle's question will be different. Coming off an NCAA season, APR free, core unit returning, time to solidify the program as elite under Jank.

I had forgotton about Whitt. If Harry measures up and then one Froling becomes two we're off to a good start for years when it's entirely Janks squad. I'm feeling good about the future. But When Sterling and Ben go, it's the end of an era.
