Big Al's scatter-shooting

Postby ALEX LIFESON » Mon Sep 05, 2016 9:33 am

Most things have been covered, but here are a couple of more.

Biggest missed opportunity of the night-nobody had a camera to capture the pregame conversation with Big Al and Stallion.

Iowa St transfer Terry Ayeni didn't play.
Keyfer Roberts had a lot of snaps at DT, and didn't hurt us.
Jarvis Pruitt and Michael Scott didn't dress (suspended for game)
Delontae Scott had the deer in the headlights look.
Deon Green played well, Zelt had Minor improvement.
Chris Biggars and J T Williams didn't hurt us.
Mason Gentry didn't play much and was a non factor. Stallion and Big Al discussed him pregame.
Hunter Thedford got his feet wet...but needs to stay a while at the buffet table.
Returning lb's are still vertically challenged.
Jordan Wyatt has to get off his blocks, he will get a steady dose at Baylor.
Jamie Sackville has a funny spin on his punts...we'll see some fumbles this year.
I was told K- Josh Williams limped off the field and that's why Not-Legstrong took his place.
Freeman is a stud, power, vision, balance and guts.
When Sutton gets doubled, Proche will collect the check.
Davis' int in the endzone hit Gaines in the hands...deja vu last year.
TE Ryan Becker blocked well and caught the ball, so did Kaufman.
Kevin Thomas didn't play much...tic toc
Davis can scramble or throw deep, not very accurate.
Nick Natour got exposed, better get insurance on our qb's.
Slightly disappointed in our OL...couldn't run on 1st down and immediate pressure on qb.
Good turnout by our fans.
The seats in 124 sucked.

Add: First time in many years, NT(S)U didn't look 15- 20lbs. per man heavier.

What did you mean by vertically challenged? Short LB's are in the NFL HOF. Slow LB's are not.

I think he meant vertically up the field. They can't cover anyone running a seam up the middle of the field.

Still not sure this young man doesn't wind up as the Ponies QB-DT !!! The kid looks like he'd fit in on the Alabama sidelines .... he has that SuperBall body.

I still find it amazng that Freeman was literally our "last" recruit and ended up with us because Moore backed out.

Some times you get lucky. Freeman is a beast.

It wasn't just luck, just a matter of space available. Yes, we got lucky though.

Oh yeah, the road whites looked great! Did anyone else notice 3 time loser Sam Rice, face the SMU section for an elongated time... signaling touchdown?

Sam Rice seems to have quite a chip on his shoulder when it comes to SMU.

We could use Sam Rice. Anyone remember why he transferred?
