Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?Let's face it...Chad Morris is not afraid of any rebuilding challenge because he took over a program that was arguably the worst Division I FBS program in the country when he took the SMU job. The fact that Baylor's issues are larger than rebuilding a football team might cause him some hesitation, especially if his long term goal is to become HC at A$M. Let's just hope we can keep him and this staff together for another year or two so SMU can field a competitive team that Chad's successor can build on. I'm reminded that Gary Patterson did not build the TCU program...he just sustained and improved on what Fran had initially built.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?Any coach that jumps on the Baylor job before the dust settles could be in for a very very rude awakening.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?I wouldn't take the Baylor job if I had other options.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic? Can't imagine the Baylor job perking Chad's ears. His son is tearing it up at Highland Park as a freshman. And after being in Waco this past weekend, I can't see the Morris family being excited moving from their multi-million dollar mansion in Highland Park to the hole in the earth that is Waco where Potbelly is the best restaurant in town.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?
Seriously! I couldn't believe the lack of options. My wife went to Baylor so I got the "tour" of the town all weekend. What a hole! I was looking forward to George's (damn you Pat Green) and it was at best OK, but overrated for sure. The other places I was taken to were very disappointing. The way my wife and her friends talk about it though you'd think they had a great bar scene. I will say though, WAY cheaper to eat and drink there than anywhere I've been lately. Thought I was stealing when I got my check at George's. And don't get me started on the apartments around the campus. Sketchy. My wife had a friend that not once, not twice, but three times had a homeless man break into her apartment she shared with some friends and would stare at them while they slept! Creepy! And this was blocks from campus. Call me a snob, pretentious or whatever, I'll pass on that experience!
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic? Are you guys kidding!?! Waco has a Fazoli's - talk about fine Italian dining. I was saddened when they left the Dallas market.

Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic? What Baylor needs is a coach with a winning record, low moral standards and an ability to look the other way. Baylor doesn't care what scum they hire as long as he is a winner. Such a coach would have to be immediately available, could work with the remaining rape enabling assistant coaches and popular with the fans. The obvious match, made in heaven, is Art Briles.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?I will not be surprised by Briles being rehired.

Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?I wouldn't be surprised if they hire Brile's son.
Chad's issue isn't about an IPF, its his development of players. He is recruiting well for SMU. If he goes to Baylor, he will be at a disadvantage. Baylor got great with recruits that would normally go to UT.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?Art Briles may be rehired. They may conclude he did no wrong.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?Maybe they go after the Pirate.
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic?Pirate doesn't seem to like those pansies in Wazzu
Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic? It will be interesting to see how Baylor does against Rice this week to compare their performance to ours.

Re: Chad to Baylor...how realistic? This whole thread is bad mojo. I'd kill it as Baylor fans will gladly post here in a couple of short months.
Pony up!
