It was really scary when they turned the red lights on around campus with time still on the clock.

Is Liberty ranked like JMU was last year?
HCCM got the Arky transfer. It seems like a grad transfer would have helped more.

Was one of Hicks interceptions legitimate. Looked like clear interference to me and everybody else at Ford-but I'll defer to the replay

Punter seems to be intentionally kicking it out on almost every punt. That can't be by accident...coaches must not be confident about the special teams coverage too.

They beat No. 4 Coastal Carolina in final game and CC went on to the Championship game I think. Also beat No. 8 Montana.

I always respect your opinion but you can't be serious with this statement. That game was full of poor decisions and inaccurate throws against a FCS team.

Bright spot is #15 Jordan Wyatt. Kid has more than shown up to every game. Picks in all and took one to the house tonight!

Stallion wrote:Ha! I love these threads-wondering what you guys expected and WHY? SMU improved tonite. Hicks improved tonite despite the ints. SMU's defense improved tonite and helped win the game with turnovers. SMU is not a very good team yet and Liberty is a lot better than some want to admit. We lose this game last year. I thought the team was prepared and ready to play unlike against past FCS teams. Well coached on both sides of the ball. We just aren't playing well in the Redzone-and that should be spread to all players on Offense not just Hicks because there were a lot of breakdowns by a lot of players.
I think we all were hoping for improvement in the red zone offense.. that clearly did not happen. But, I hope your optimism is spot on

I just don't see who SMU would be clearly favored against from this point on in the season. But maybe they play better against TCU.

Right, we won't be favored again this season. It's entirely possible we could improve on the field (we already look much better) but still end up with the same win total as last season.

I suppose it might be as simple as cleaning up the red zone turnover problem, and hope the running game continues to perform well and the defense does the same, and then hang on for dear life... I would be happy with all that..
and maybe squeeze out some wins with that formula... but damn that red zone problem...whew

Using the transitive property, SMU would lose by just eight to Va Tech, which beat the Flames by 23 at home in the first game. Or SMU would beat Edward Waters by about 80 at home. Liberty beat J'Ville which destroyed Edward Waters.
Seriously, hoping for a Baylor like game (first half) against TCU Friday night.

I think much of you are overreacting to how crappy we played here.. I think in large part it was us playing down to our opponent and them playing up to us.. With that said, I am not thrilled with Hicks, but i do believe he had some improvement here.. The kid has just been thrown in to the starting position give him a few games to adjust and I think we will like what we see from him.
