He did do much better. I am just concerned over why he loses his grip so often.
I am a little disappointed though because after watching both he and Colbert in the spring I was looking forward to catching some balls in my seat at a game.

I agree with comments that we might not be favored in another game the rest of this season...unless this team significantly improves as the year goes on, which is certainly possible. I agree with comments that Hicks might improve with time, unlike what we've seen from the QB position in recent years. OL is getting a lot of criticism, but run blocking was good although admittedly against a FCS opponent where you would hope that would be the case.
The season is young. Let's just hope we can be competitive against TCU and that Ford Stadium is packed for that game

More teams are doing that these days — until the next Thomas Morstead walks through the door, teams are willing to put together an array of directional kicks, etc., to simply keep the ball away from opponents.
Tonight, the teams combined to punt the ball nine times. Not one was returned.
I hope every punt next week goes out of bounds. I don't want Turpin touching a punt.

I started pointing out last year punting has changed forever in College Football. There is more directional punting now than traditional punting. What I'd like to see is for him to keep the ball on the field so he gets a little roll on the rugby kick. I think our opponents only had 6 yards total in punt returns all year-and there wasn't much or any last night.
Turpin is highly doubtful for SMU-more likely out for the year. MRI Monday
