PI on second end zone INT?

Postby Junior » Sun Sep 18, 2016 12:01 pm

Was there a pass inteference on the second interception that Hicks through in the end zone? It looked like the receiver got the crap knocked out of him while the ball was on the way there, but nothing was called. I never saw a replay, but this is what it look like from the stands.

Quick replay I saw looked like the receiver broke right and the throw went left. Received ran into a defender. If that is what happened I do not know if the throw or the receiver made the wrong read.

Thanks, Mark. That may have been the case. The player looked like he got blasted from my vantage point, but I may have had a bad angle.

He was hit hard. I could not see it from my seats but saw a replay this morning on a highlight tape.

Watching it live, I thought it was 100% PI. No replay was shown in the stadium.

I did too but after watching on replay I'm less sure unless Walker was planning a back shoulder move-he may have just run wrong route because he went right and the ball went left. Still think that would routinely be called Pass Interference since the Official isn't supposed to assume that a receiver couldn't catch it

But I think the ball had passed him before he was hit.

I thought it was PI for sure until I watched the replay. I can understand the no call. It wasn't catchable by a receiver because the receiver was running the opposite direction and the ball was thrown 5 yards behind him. Someone read the play wrong, or Hicks was actually trying to throw to the corner and didn't see the defender there because of the inside receiver's position.
