Just a victim? Scapegoat? Wrongly fired? Comeback story in the making?

When you don't like what the investigator found and disclosed, you don't attack the facts/conclusions, you attack the investigator.

When the whole story comes to light, we are going to find that Baylor, as a University, had a systemic problem relating to Title IX claims and that department in charge
Of investigating those claims was flawed in their training and compromised in their decision making. All of which is incredibly troubling for a school founded on Baptist principles.

This flaw carried itself through not only that athletic issues, but those involving the student body in general. This is the hormet's nest Baylor is dealing with at the moment. Not just the lawsuits from the young women raped by athletes, but all the others the school failed to
Protect.

Those individuals claiming to speak for the school are doing the University no favors in attacking Pepper Hamilton. Have they not learned from the Penn State debacle?

While SMU's failures revolved around a leadership's acceptance of paying athletes, Baylor faces a scandal that could be even more costly in Title IX issues, lawsuits from victims, AND perception...Baptists have always had a tie on some level of support with Baylor, DBU, Hardin-Simmons, and Howard Payne...those days of institutional control through the Baptist General Convention of Texas are over, and have been for decades.

The real kicker in this is that most folks still link Baylor directly to the local Baptist church in town, and wonder how "we" in the Baptist Church can put up with shenanigans and scumbaggery. I've had folks ask about de-funding our support to Baylor. I can happily tell them that our church does not give a dime to them directly.
The perception from folks in the pew could not be worse for Baylor here in Navasota, and in other churches that I have friends serving at.

It will be a rough patch for the next few years for Baylor, and I am not bothered by that in the least. Hosea 8:7 kind of puts it in perspective:

"Sow the wind, and reap the whirlwind"
stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse

Art ain't coming back. In fact, the longer this goes on the less of a chance Briles has of even coaching again.

I don't pretend to know what is in the PH report. But I'm going to assume that the Baylor leadership has reason to dump Briles, Star, and the lot.

Interesting point:

If Herman leaves for LSU or whatnot Briles has to see that as a potential landing spot for him in his comeback bid. But if Houston gets into the Big XII, or is still in consideration for the conference, there is NO way they can consider him.

This needs to go away.

I see Briles back at Baylor. He has support there he will not find elsewhere. It would not surprise me at all.

There is absolutely no way he goes back to Baylor. Not even they have that level of tone deaf.
