Re: What's Up With The Big-12?The b12 is led by rape gang and they suck. They're their only top 20 team currently.
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?
No way. The Big XII is the only P5 that has been cannibalized by other conferences in the modern era. Colorado to PAC, Nebraska to B1G, Missourri and A&M to SEC. Only other example I can think of in recent times is Maryland lackadaisically going to the B1G. The Longhorn Network is the albatross around their neck and I see Texas either wanting to go independent or go run off to a "smarter" conference such as the PAC or B1G. All other conferences are built around stability. If the Big XII loses Texas it will lose OU and then that's it. No other conference so deeply depends on two members.

Thanks to RGT and his need to give Tulane some love. Peruna is my mascot!
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?Thanks to marianatto declining a 125mil+ per year contract and ending up with the chump change aac gets now.
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?
Are you really that dense? The C7 were talking about leaving a full year before Tulane was announced and even voted them in
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?
The ACC killed the Big East. Serial expansions that took away Miami, Virginia Tech, Pitt, Syracuse and BC were the cause. That vote to admit Tulane is still inexplicable though. Especially since more than one of the basketball-only schools voted in favor of Tulane, and then shortly thereafter the Tulane admission was used as a reason for them to break away.
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?The problem with the B12 is simple: The Name Schools are all having a down year at the same time.
1) OU's coach is running out of gas at his current job; 2) Texas - although Strong is not a bad coach, he is not a great coach. 3) Baylor - everyone knows what happened there; 4) TCU - they are rebuilding their roster and lost a double overtime game to a decent SEC team. 5) OSU - lost a game on a freak call; 6) TT - Coach Bro can coach offense, but cannot figure out how to build a decent defense 7) WVU - Undefeated, but nobody cares about the Hillbillies. ![]() 9,10): KU, ISU - they exist to take beatings. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?It might be more accurate to say that the name schools are all having a down decade at the same time. And by that I mean OU and UT.
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?Long term College football success is pretty much entirely coaching driven. It's not driven by any particular recruiting class, or conference affiliation, it is all coaching. USC has Pete Carol, perennial national championship contender, Florida has Urban Meyer, perennial national championship contender. What happened to both when those coaches left? Both schools still have ridiculous resources, strong conferences, and prime location for recruiting. TCU and Baylor are just like Texas Tech under Mike Leach. The only difference is TCU fans are smart enough to not run out of town the only thing that has made them relevant. Baylor had their hand forced given the egregious situation on their campus. I give Baylor maybe one more year of mediocrity before returning back to being a conference bottom dweller. If TCU loses Patterson they run the same risk of returning to to bottom. So with all that I doubt OU and UT are worried about creating more "TCU" or "Baylors" as both schools know they can always poach the best coaches because they can just throw money at it beyond their competitors.

What's life without a good conspiracy theory completely unsupported by facts and evidence?
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?Trying to read all of that. What's it all say?
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?Texas good. Other states bad.
Re: What's Up With The Big-12?Pfffft
Already knew that.
