Re: Big Al's Liberty quick hits...Big Al knows SMU football. love the commentary
Re: Big Al's Liberty quick hits...Ok, so I'm about to do a psych eval on a young college kid (pretty stupid I know), but I think I know what's going on with Hicks: he's very egotistical. He had a strong high school career and he comes in and wants to be the savior (I'm sure Chad sold he and his father on a lot of that to land him) and forces stuff (initially he thinks he can do anything) but then when it doesn't happen he gets very down on himself (reality sets in that he just isn't that great at this level). He may have small hands and he may just not be big/strong enough to make some of the throws, but the rest is all between the ears for him. And that doesn't get solved right away, if ever. He is not the savior and he never was supposed to be. I expect a lot of up and down from him and we will see Simpson play and probably even others (Rock and Freeman). It will get ugly at times. Maybe a light will go off and/or maybe they will adjust the playbook a bit for him. But he won't be the starter next year and he might not even be here next year. If June was here, I would be hearing Eastern Washington calling about now.
Of course, I hope he steps up. And, of course, I know he's just a freshman. So I'm not calling for his head, I'm just saying that he is what he is at this level. And I wish him the best (this year and throughout his career). #selfadmittedmattdavisfan
Re: Big Al's Liberty quick hits...Hicks is the most accurate passer I've ever seen he will be a first round draft choice. Man I miss JJ LOL
