I'm open to either idea but I'd imagine the wild Mustang would have more passing involved. Whatever the case is I can't see ben hicks being the answer much longer this year

This thread is ridiculous. Kid is 1-2 so far, playing 2 of the 3 toughest teams we have in our schedule...potential Playoff and conference champs. Conner Simpson talk is a load of crock. Stop with the nonsense, Hicks is our guy.

He was a late CM recruit.

Chase Vigil was HCCM's first choice but he committed to Fresno State. I think he is starting at Fresno St now. Then he then got Hicks. And that is not to say Hicks will not pan out.

Completed 61% for 3309 yards 29 TD's and 6 picks his senior year. He wouldn't be asked to be a pocket Passer like hicks is limited to being

Hicks makes good reads. He just doesn't throw well

Bingo-he already knows the offense better than Matt Davis-he is courageous in the pocket and made two great reads on the long ball but his ball sails too much though. There's got to be a technique to work on his high throws

The point isn't whether Hick's could be or ever will be our best QB...the point from a coaching prospective is that we are boarderline non-competitive right now because we can only throw two passes with any type of consistency: 3-yard dumps and jump-balls to Sutton. Everything else were hitting well below 50% of the time...probably more like 30%. That isn't going to move the ball or generate points. And we are not playing B10 or SEC football where you could win only with field goals, not that we have a kicker to build around that strategy anyway. We needs to do whatever we can do to make first downs...roll Hicks out for a couple of series, throw in some Freemon wildcat plays, run gimmick plays, put Simpson in for a few plays if he has a big arm to throw a few June-esque...hell, try running the tempo offense at a real tempo-pace. Show us fans and recruits that you just want to win, by any means we have at our disposal.

Are you going to give him the same short leash you gave Hicks?
