Chad not happy post game
From DMN's Bill Nichols on Twitter:
SMU's Chad Morris basically called out his team, telling them: 'You've got to look yourself in the mirror. I’m not motivating you.'
Chad Morris: 'This program's going to get turned, but at some point, we all have to make a decision that it's time.'
SMU's Chad Morris: 'We at some point have got to get sick and tired of walking into the locker room with this feeling'

We'll see how the coaches do this week in working with a team that is fragile mentally, and beat up physically.

Re: Chad not happy post game
I posted this earlier this week and I'll stand by it.
IMO CM made a mistake by not bringing in 'some' JC help.
Our OL is in shambles. You cannot expect an 18/19 yr-old to compete effectively against 22/23 y-olds. Shoulda had at least 4 on this line for starting & depth. Talk of burning red-shirts in the middle of the Temple game reinforces by point.
He also screwed up at QB. There was Davis, who relies on his legs as much as his arm (more susceptible to injury) and nothing else. PB bringing in those 2 JC QBs was a smart move on his part, it brought some stability to the QB position, CM should have at least 1.
Now SMU runs the risk of being non-competitive for the remainder of the season. That means laughable crowds and more questioning of CM's ability which makes it harder to sell SMU to recruits.
I've seen this too many times. New SMU coach has a window, which begins closing the moment he drives the car off the lot. Your product needs to at least be entertaining to keep the momentum going, this one is not.
I do think CM is the best thing since Ron Meyer and will turn this around.

I get it, losing SUCKS. Yes, I personally am on DefCon 2, Code Orange or whatever. But if you thought we were going to win this year, you're crazier than I am. Let's have some perspective ladies and gentlemen.
Cheap shots at the Coach on other threads are truly pathetic. Yes, our lack of talent is showing up big time, but let's be fair. We are fortunate to have the caliber coaching staff we have to take on our many challenges. No, results are not before us yet, but the right things are being done across the board. SMU's fan base is thin enough, don't bail out.

Yeah not to beat the JJ drum but honestly who could make a winning team with recruits JJ sent. We be better with the whole team being removed and starting with scratch. Hardly in of the juniors and seniors are actually D1 players which I and 99% of the people agreed with. It's sad but I'm glad Chad didn't do his due diligence before realizing how sad the player we got from JJ so he could actually start truly recruiting.
I'm glad he's fired up about it because we got no emotion from the tiki [deleted] for all those years.

Looks like 4 year with $2mm a year, and I don't see any school paying his buyout till the truly see a turnaround. I think we will extend his contract if we get to bowl yr3 and 4 but I dunno. At least even if he leaves now (don't see it happening), he wouldn't leave us with nothing like tiki [deleted] did.
Here's where I found mine: http://www.todaysu.com/aac/smu-mustangs/chad-morris-isnt-leaving-smu-mustangs/

"It is believed that he signed a six year contract with an annual salary of around $2 million"

Re: Chad not happy post game
It was more than a 4 year contract-he wouldn't have taken this job with a 4 year contract. I thought it was 1 more year than the traditional 5 years too
