so, with Menghe Nyam committed, obviously I can understand waiting to rule out the possibility Arthur shocks everyone and casts his lot with SMU...but realistically who are we in on for the last scholarship? Or will Tubbs offer more than 2 because somebody leaves?

Scout.com shows the only others interested in SMU are:

Jonathan Hall, 6-5 185 from Miami

O.J. Avwaro, 6-6 173 of Houston

Trent Boone, 6-3 200 of Garland

Radar Onguetou, 6-5, 215 and a teammate of Nyam's

Anyone know what the interest level is in these guys...or them in us...or whether there is someone else out there Tubbs is looking at?

I did a search of Nyam's school's webpage and he rarely shows up as one of the top 3-4 top scorers. I doubt if he is averaging 10 points per game.

I'm going to trust that Coach Tubbs sees some potential there...or is hoping his signing will help land Radar

I understand Radar signed with New Hampshire in the early period.

SMU never offered Radar as he had an injury to his knee.

Papi is a VERY shysical player who "will improve offensively" ...but Caoch likes the way he plays the game...i.e. "extremely hard nosed" and is very athletic.

That's basically the report I've heard on Nyam, too: great athlete, very tough and physical. Supposedly he's a guy who goes crazy chasing rebounds and will hit the floor going after every loose ball.
Hope his scoring comes around, too.
