Some bigger schools may be skiddish of him after what he left at Tennessee and USC -- and rightfully so. He may need to "prove" himself as a HC at a smaller program like UH first

The UT trainer wouldn't have met Trump's approval IIRC.

Oh yes, Kiffin's a good coach. He's even better now that Nick Saban has brought his "ego" down a few levels. He's learned a lot from Saban, but then again who wouldn't?

Herman was the hot commodity coming into this season, but let's see how the year plays out to see if he remains hot. Houston rewarded him for that 1st season but after the Navy loss and Tulsa scare, I'm sure some of his suitors are watching just a little more cautiously. Let's face it...a loss to SMU would be a major setback on his resume.

Yeah I would tap the breaks on Herman. Good but hasn't proven great.

Strong will get another year almost for sure in my view. UT (who wants to keep the PAC door open) isn't firing an African American coach without obvious reason. I also don't think Herman wants the LSU job. Worst thing that could happen is that you do well and get stuck there.

The team hasn't gotten any better in three seasons - does that qualify as a reason? Charlie is a good coach but Texas was a bad fit from day one for him
