.... the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

From the AAC release:

Richardson led an SMU defense that forced five turnovers in the Mustangs' 55-31 win at East Carolina, as he had two interceptions and returned both for touchdowns. Richardson set an American Athletic Conference record with 150 yards on interception returns as he scored on returns of 70 and 80 yards. Richardson is the American Athletic Conference leader with six interceptions in 2016.

Also earning AAC recognition: Courtland Sutton was named to the conference's weekly Honor Roll.

Unfortunately no. Sadly, his career here has been plagued with nonstop injuries. I always felt he could be a stud if he could stay injury free long enough. Glad to see him finally have a great year.

Damn. Really like watching him play. The dude is a hawk. Will be some big shoes to fill next year. He's certainly set the bar high for some of the younger guys.

- Had 2 interceptions, both returned for TDs (70 yards and 80 yards)
- He is the first SMU player with multiple non-offensive TDs in a game since Alvin Nnabuife with 2 fumble return TDs 11/13/04 in a 38-20 win vs. Nevada (one on defense and one on a kickoff return)
- Now has 6 interceptions on the season, tied for 8th at SMU (has 10 interceptions for his career)
- Set new SMU records for interception return yards in single-game (150), season (215) and career (234)
