Yes, I was pleasantly surprised with how much quality gear (particularly Nike but also UA) the bookstore has. Quite a few items that are on par with the more elite Nike schools. Although I'm worried that if I don't buy any new gear soon, they'll run out of XL's and never restock. The licensed apparel at the Nike store in Northpark unfortunately isn't anything to write home about -- wish they had some of the gear that the bookstore has.

The SMU B&N bookstore on Mockingbird now has the best selection of SMU wear I've ever seen. From lower to upper price points, the stuff is for the most part very nice looking with a number of manufacturers participating.

Agree, the team shop in Moody is lacking. Weird because there are a lot of non-SMU people who make their way through Moody and might snag some cool gear if it was available.

I agree one hundo. They had some nice jackets and stuff but they need the $14.99 tshirt and $29.99 polo plus a couple tanks for the ladies.
Anecdotally, I brought my nephew (9) in there and he asked why they only had a few hats and only one 'flat cap' (I hate those but whatever). I told him we'd go to the bookstore where they have lots more to choose from.

The size of the Moody shop would have to be increased by about 2,000 sq ft to handle all these requests. The bookstore is only a block away from the stadium. It's a five minute walk.

Simple! So essentially the Moody shop should be simplified and only sell Moody Magic, MOB and inexpensive SMU Basketball T's. All fans should own at least one. Let the bookstore sell everything else.

Sadly, the decision makers at SMU probably see it the same way you do. If people really want SMU basketball gear they can just go to the bookstore even though the bookstore closes at 7pm, the time most games start. SMU Athletics still does not view itself as a business with customers. Instead it is satisfied by breaking even and only taking great care of its major donors. It never has bothered with t-shirt fans and keeping most working class alums involved. The result is one of the smallest D1 fan bases in the country. Until we start acting like a business and putting value on customer service, it will never change.

Yeah. Makes too much sense for SMU though.

You can get Cowboys, Mavs and Rangers merchandise EVERYWHERE in the metroplex, but they all have awesome fan shops at their venues. When you are at a game and get excited about the experience it makes you want some team gear. Either do it right or use that valuable space for something else because what they have now is embarrassing.

It would be simple to set up a licensed trailer or tent to sell lots of licensed gear from outside Moody.
