Proud of our school and the football leadership for the stance they have taken on this subject. Coach Morris has really promoted the moral and ethical growth of his players, with great support from a staff that speaks with one voice. Consistent success on the field will come, but the promotion of these players as moral young men who can lead by example is great to see. Such a stark contrast to the dumpster fire in Waco.

Before I die I want to see the SMU program excel without an asterisk. I want to actually be proud of an athletic achievement of this school
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

many of us share that sentiment but don't know if that day will ever come. If/when SMU excels, a good many in this country will say "they must be cheating again".

So to stir all that stuff up again I have this. Met a guy playing golf last week and he noticed my SMU stuff. Told him I'm a big fan, we had the usual talk about how good they were when we were growing up, blah blah blah. Then he mentioned his friend who came to SMU in 2002 as an OLineman. Cool I said that's when we really started to suck but oh well. He said well you guys gave him a new truck and $40k cash to sign so he didn't care. ---- My god when will this die?!? I looked up his buddy; he played one year and quit. Obviously he either made up stories or people just can't separate fantasy from reality. I mean if we were cheating that bad in 02 wouldn't we have had some kids who could actually play football?

I'll give initials and y'all can sleuth. I don't want to get in too much trouble for outing someone.

Not listed on those rosters, likely because he quit. But he is findable as an SMU OL on the internet. And I was wrong he was class of 01.

I remember some of the guys back then. There was a lineman from the west coast, I believe, who used to be stoned half the week. There was some shady things that happened around those years.
