as for Sterling-two stupid technicals one when we were about to ice the game is ridiculous
Gu had a lot of rim shots and "in and outs" so if he get PT his shot will improve. He plays tough D and gives us another experienced guy to handle the ball against pressure. Glad he's back. As for Sterling, I agree...he's too important a guy to lose to emotion, but you can't take Chicago out of the guy. He's just a fierce competitor and you have to love that.

BTW 2 years ago I was one of the few on this board repeatedly defending Emelogu-I do recognize he does things not always reflected in the short stats. When you got a short bench they all need to contribute

The second T for sterling was dumb. First one I didn't mind. Nice turnout at MSG Pony Fans. Time to enjoy a nice dinner and celebrate out in the city.

I love how Gu plays! He adds so much to the team. Don't think he should be shooting 9 shots unless he is hot. (1-9 from field is rough). We need him to play this year great D, hustle and ball control. Just needs to shoot less in my opinion, unless he gets going in a game.
How about McDowell tonight giving us some solid bench minutes.

You shoot when the defense gives it to you or it's the right/best play. He did that.he should so it again next time, so long as nothing is forced

So here's the GOOD news: sitting here with the Utah Jazz scouts. They say Semi and Shake BOTH should stay another year.

That is not good news. Good news is that they actually stay because they want to. Many players in the past should have stayed another year according to scouts and did not listen.

Still early. They will get better as the year goes on. I hope they play so well by season's end that they will both be lotter picks. That would be good for SMU.

McDowell really played well when we needed him to in the first half. Same for Frolling.
Disappointed that the zone had an impact on us, but we weren't hitting our outside shots. We got looks. Need quicker passing around the perimeter.
Shake creating for himself at the end of the game was super important for this team and is a big deal the rest of the season.
When Foster develops into the third scoring threat as the season goes along, we are going to be really really strong.
We played tentative at times and missed some good looks. But somehow really looked in control of the game the entire time.
We break the press easily because so many can handle and pass, but I'd like to see us break it with more urgency instead of allowing them to set back up in the half court. I suspect that will improve with experience.

We break the press like we do not have a traditional speedy point guard which is okay but it takes a but longer and the potential for a turnover is a bit higher.

Tough crowd-only 9 turnovers-only 3 by PG, SG, SF position-not too concerned
