That seems to be the consensus. Thanks for the update. Both are such good players. Really fun to watch. Excited for the Michigan game tomorrow.

You do realize that if they get to the point this year where both are playing like lottery picks it would mean that SMU could win the NCAA tournament. It is a long season and they can get there. I am not wishing that they don't play well enough to get drafted in the first round so that we can selfishly keep them at SMU because that would be stupid imo.

I wonder what Semi's true combine height is. The kid is a monster, but still not sure I see an NBA position. Shake on the other hand

Very funny being practically next to LB during the game last night. He was quite the "fanboy," yelling, cheering, high-fiving. Quite the opposite from the reserved demeanor of the bench coach. He truly loves these kids. He cheered the loudest and most specifically for Ben E and DaShawn.

Sadder - although the Vegas tourney was fun (mainly because it was in Vegas), this one is clearly a step up. Agree, and my gosh there are Ponies all over this city!

I stayed for the first half of the second game. We will be out-numbered tonight! I really like the new-improved Garden....especially the fact that I can get a decent tequila at halftime. Slight headache this morning but nothing coffee won't cure.

Who: SMU (3-0) vs. Michigan (3-0) When: Friday, November 18 @ 7P est / 6P cst Where: MSG TV: ESPN2 Line: TBD (I'd imagine Michigan by 1.5/2)
Per KenPom:
SMU is projected to lose 68-67 (48% Win Probability)
When SMU has the ball: SMU Off: Scoring 110.7 pts. / 100 possessions (#30) MICH Def: Giving up 94.7 pts. / 100 possessions (#41)
When MICH has the Ball MICH Off: Scoring 112.1 pts. / 100 possessions (#19) SMU Def: Giving up 94.0 pts. / 100 possessions (#35)
A few tidbits: - SMU is grabbing 46% of all potential offensive rebounds (#12), while Michigan is cleaning up the glass and limiting its opponents to 21% off. reb % (#32) - SMU is forcing turnovers on 25% of all possessions (#30), while Michigan is turning it over only 18% of the time. - Contrary to what announcers say, SMU (and Michigan) play an extremely slow pace. We're (SMU + opponents) are averaging 69 possessions per game (#335) (Michigan is #336). That's why I think grabbing Off Rebs / forcing turnovers will be critical for the winner of this evening's game.

I think that he's come along at the right now where NBA teams to go smaller with shooters at every position. I could see him coming off the bench to play same small ball 4 as he can hold up guarding guys taller than him due to his body build.

I hear what you're saying, though I'm not sure playing small is truly en vogue or a trend. The Warriors clearly do it well, but the next great big swings the pendulum back etc.

I agree with hoopman on Semi's NBA prospects. Seeing him on TV, I was surprised to see how short he looked. If he was 6'9", absolutely! But he needs a much quicker first step and more bounce if he's 6'7" (he might be more like 6'6" actually). I think he will be a monster and matchup nightmare as Rothstein is saying, at the college level.
Anyway, this Michigan game will be huge. Hope we come to play! I think this game will come down to how well folks like Jarrey and Dashawn play. Need to hit our 3s and continue to play great D and rebound. Hope B Moore and Sterling have great games as seniors at the Garden! LOOOVE seeing LB there in SMU gear!

He is kind of in the same boat as Nigel Hayes (Wisconsin) and Robert Carter (Teprs last year) where he is a small 4. He is an awesome college player through 3 games, and think he can play in the NBA, but just needs to keep working on his game and have two big years at SMU. Nightmare match up in college though.
