Should we be worried about him leaving for BU?

Meh. Baylor is a dumpster fire right now.

Don't think Herman or HCCM wants to throw away all their hard work at the respective schools to start all over again in a small town with a terrible reputation.

I have always had questions about articles like this. Does this mean that Baylor has already reached out to the agents/reps of these coaches? Are these the coaches that the school is going to chase and try to get them interested? Is this just an attempt by Baylor to judge the reaction from these coaches to see if they have a shot?

If Morris leaves for Baylor, I hear that Saban is at the top of our list for head coach.

Not sure if true but Chad Morris would be the perfect choice for Baylor even though many Baylor fans on Baylorfans.com are too dumb and ignorant to figure it out. Heck we've got some of them on ponyfans too. He fits the Baylor job even better than he fits the SMU job. The only real negative is that if he wins he would probably leave Baylor for its biggest rival A&M if offered

He's a more polished Briles

he works the Christian motivational angle

he can rescue their recruiting class which basically doesn't exist because his staff has contacted just about every Texas recruit

He has unparalleled contacts in Texas

His offense will be among the best in the Nation once he gets the players he needs

He now has a maturing, experienced Coaching staff with strong(er) Texas ties than when some came from Clemson

I'm sure if Chad wins another game he might have 5-6 schools look at him. He was a top national candidate 3 years ago-and his rebuild is ahead of schedule. An AD or school that did its due diligence should realize he's an even bigger Coaching prospect today than he was 3 years ago. Lazy fans might not understand but you've got the wrong AD if he isn't on Morris' trail this year

I agree that Chad Morris would be a great hire for Baylor and we can only hope he's not interested. We all know it's just a matter of time before he leaves for a bigger job. Let's just hope he stays at least another year because I really want this current recruiting class to enroll at SMU. I thik everyone assumes but that Houston's big win last night has Herman one foot out the door at Houston.

I will have to somewhat disagree with Stallion.

Why would HCCM take a coaching job with a program that could very possibly be hit with major sanctions? Right now the BU job is not a rebuilding job, but a damage control job at a program that might not be salvageable.

HCCM will be a very hot commodity in one or two years and could land a job with a major program and not have to deal with all the issues and possible sanctions. I just don't see BU as a very attractive job.

Completely agree with Stallion as to CM's value.

Questions to me are, 1) would he ever leave the state of Texas and 2) how long he would want to stay in Waco, given all the uncertainty in Austin and College Station.

He doesn't come across like a Todd Graham mercenary to me.

My bet is he is the next A&M HC and that he'll be an excellent one for the Aggies.

I think Stallion's point wasn't whether HCCM would take the job or would want the job. Just that he would be a good fit and Baylor would be wise to pursue.

I still think Herman is gone and headed to Texas.

Les Miles to Baylor has popped up in recent weeks.

I think Baylor needs to do something in regards to their HC position right after their last regular season game. Need to get some recruits in this class and some direction as to the future of their program. Also, might need to make move before "bigger" jobs come open and they end up with their 2nd, 3rd or 10th choice. Hope them nothing but the worst down there in the hell hole they call Waco.

I'm not saying Morris should take the job-I'm saying that Baylor would be incredibly stupid in not pursuing him. There is no Coach out there that is a better fit for that job. I wouldn't want an AD or Coaching Search that can't put that relatively simple puzzle together EVEN IF he finishes 5-7 this year. Due diligence and home work makes him their perfect choice and a top national coaching prospect even more than when his hire by SMU was regarded as a Grade A hire. If he was a Grade A hire then his stock should be up even higher by observers who really do their homework and understand the Game. Its easy for [deleted] fans to look at his 7-15 record and complain-but that's why they are dumbasses

This is going to go down-one way or the other a lot sooner than most guess. I'd say Baylor tries to move on this within 2 weeks. Ideally, they need someone on the recruiting trail when the winter recruiting calendar opens up after last game. SMU needs to be ready NOW to respond if necessary

The other names mentioned are a mixed bag. I seriously doubt McIntyre will leave Colorado as he's finally gotten that program turned around and is in line for a raise/extension. Babers is from the Briles tree, but has he won enough to be an attractive choice. Dykes is a possibility as he is having a hard time winning in the Pac-12, but is Baylor that interested? Or does he eventually want to follow his dad at TTU? Is KK safe?

HCCM's name will come up for Baylor. Which is admirable on their part, looking for a decent human. But there is more to come on their lawsuits and sanctions, so Ima say he stays away. For now.
