I would take a look at Ed Orgeron. He flamed out at Ole Miss, but he has done a pretty amazing job in two very difficult situations at both USC and LSU. He has proven that he can be a head coach. Amazing recruiter and his players love playing for him. I think one of the things that Chad has proven is the same thing that Rob Meyer proved. At SMU, since we don't have a huge fan base and are in a pro sports town, the head coach needs to have a swagger a a personality that helps market the program. Coach O also is a pretty good defensive coach, if he were to surround himself with a young, dynamic offensive coach with ties to the state, it could be interesting.

If we hired June back we would probably go to four straight 6-6 bowls now that there is some preloaded talent on the team.

I'd support that move...be a pretty good fit offense-wise, Texas connections, age is good...would Turner be wary and connect Montgomery to the Baylor scandal?...hopefully Turner and Hart are already getting ducks lined up.
