Re: Chad to Baylor a done deal..
We are obviously on the up but if Chad stayed I honestly believe we would have been in the 9-10 win range in a couple years.
Of course we still have a very good chance to continue on this path but I don't see how it is possible for the big season to be another year or two out now which is a setback and not a step back in my opinion.

So after seeing progress with that commitment to Chad Morris we are suddenly going to do a total 180 and uncommit? Get real. The guy was a great recruiter but a terrible game day coach. I'll take my chances that Hart can see the positives of Chad and try to balance that with a guy that isn't the NCAA equivalent of Norv Turner.
I didn't say SMU wasn't going to stay committed, and to call Chad a terrible game day coach is really stupid. I guess Clemson was paying him 1.2 for him to call their plays because he sucks at it?
You must be the guy screaming for Chad to go for it every fourth down.

I'd be shocked if Nick Saban could have pulled a much better record inheriting what Chad did.

Yup, it's a done deal. Was in Waco yesterday on my way back from Austin. Wife and I drove around a little, went by the newest tourist spots - Magnolia and Harp Design.
While driving around we happen to stumble upon a filming shoot. Low and behold it was Chad and Paula waiting behind one of those big, ridiculous, "before" pictures of their house.
Looks like Chad and Paula will be on the latest episode of Fixer Upper.
If Chip and Joanna redid a house for me I would probably move down to Waco too. Just another perk of being the Bears new head coach...

Chad is a mediocre game day coach at best. We were outcoached in the second half of games consistently the past two years. 8 punts inside the opponents 40 yard line on 4th and short is beyond insane. If he pulls that garbage at Baylor he'll be looking for a job in 2018.
We have a very talented young roster in place here. With the right hire we can continue on the upward trajectory that Chad has set in place. Same things happened with Briles, Sumlin, and Herman at Houston. La Tech has the train rolling after Dykes. You trust that the administration saw the positives of a Chad Morris type hire and try to replicate that. So far Hart is 1 for 1. Why not give him the benefit of the doubt that he can go 2 for 2?

I feel good with our AD and his mindset on replacing Chad. I just am apprehensive about retaining talent the first year after Chad leaves and how that will hurt us once more with our lack of depth. I don't entirely disagree about the game-day coaching actually. I think Chad is okay there.

When has the SMU job ever been better? We are in a very strong conference with high visibility. It has become the breeding ground for the nation's top assistant coaches to get ready for major P5 jobs. We play on TV every week. We are paying at the absolute very top end of G5 schools in the nation at $2M.
This isn't 1997. We have a ton to offer and the job is in the best position it has been in decades. I'm telling you right now this is a highly coveted job.

Not sure it means much but Mrs. HCCM's last two tweets are interesting.
Re: Chad to Baylor a done deal..
It's just wrong to compare Chad to Coach Saban. Chad does struggle with play calling during key parts of a game, but let's face it anyone with only freshmen and sophomore would...including Saban.
I firmly believe that when one door closes another opens. SMUs program is rising, Baylor is a dumpster fire that won't get better anytime soon. Whoever our new coach is will have a better chance at success than Chad will in Waco. After he fails it won't be fun accepting an OC job in Starkville or Ames. I hope he really thinks this through.

Since some of us don't participate in that stuff, would you be so kind as to post those?

I hope that is a sign of good things for us. But I'm not keeping my hopes up.
Would love Lincoln Riley when my hopes are ultimately dashed. Have met him on a couple of different occasions and like him. That would be my first call.
