What is Stallions training or credentials to establish him as the Resident Expert? How does he know so much more than anyone else? Does he watch film, go to games? Or is it just merely looking at the internet?

Stampede wrote:Don't know quite what to make of some of the recruits TT have as commits. Verified stats by Rivals (and this must mean they can not play):

Adrian Archie 5.4 time in the forty too slow
Dwayne Bazile only 5.2 stars
Ben Davis 5.1 time in the forty and 5.2 stars
Lyle Leong 158 lbs., runs a 4.5 but was probably wind aided too light
Trevor Reilly 6' 5", 200 lb. LB too light
Brandon Williams 4.8 time in the forty too slow

Relax, don't kill the messenger..... these are just the facts as reported by Rivals...must mean they can not and will not ever be players. Right?

Stampede, you forgot to check SMU's record before you got cute. I will remind you again " don't be so smug. Always check SMU's record before you spout off."Bennett's record is 11-35, but that got him a contract extension since, I guess, he achieved Copeland's goal of winning 5 or 6 games a year.

In regards to TT recruiting, they must even be better talent EVALUATORS than our staff. How else could they have gone 8-3 and gone to the Cotton Bowl? Either that or by getting commitments from 18 3 star recruits and 2 4 star recruits like they have done this year.

You made it clear that you like to stick with facts. 11-35 is a fact. Don't shoot the messenger.

Mickey,

The cupboard was bare when Bennett got here. Also, our projected starting QB left to play in his band. I am still kinda worried about Bennett's recruiting prowess, but he is improving the record.

Best,

Absolutely agree with you. The problem is not our coaching staff. They will get this turned around.

Actually it's 4 four-stars now, but that's neither here nor there.

Per Rivals, TT now has commitments from 4 four star recruits, 19 three star recruits, and 7 two star recruits. A total of 30 commitments. Something has to give there.

Well, we have 33 now with Marshall and Adam James committing. I know we have 29 spots, but 1 guy is a juco (mohetau) and 2 guys will greyshirt (James and Leong) and it appears that Dan Johnson will head to juco, so that puts us back at 29. It had to be explained to me as well, but we are certainly having a great class.

Call me a cynic, but I'm betting more than one go the JUCO route. Just a hunch.

You're right, Johnson (4*) will be juco, Routt (2*) from Texas City will be a juco, Ward (3*) from Waco may go juco and possibly one other (2*) lineman may go juco. It's good that we have 33 guys, because we'll probably end up right at the limit.
