Good. I think Chad is the best possible coach for SMU if he stays several years. Let's just hope Sumlin has a few good seasons ahead of him.

Actually I think if the Aggies bomb next season that Morris will still not be quite ready for that job, especially in the eyes of the big money boosters. I would have to think they would set the eyes for a bigger name candidate. In fact, I think that would be the best thing to happen to SMU would be for A&M to make a coaching change next year and pass on Morris. That would give him at least 3+ more season with him at the helm. Then he can take that job, right about the time his contract would be expiring anyways.

What if Chad has the A&M opportunity and there's a better coach available? CM has done great things for us, but he doesn't have to be our one-and-only... I think this contract protects us but I don't necessarily think we should be wishing for Chad to stay till 2023… or praying for Aggie championships...Maybe. Apparently we can't judge his coaching ability until he has a certain amount of talent, and we haven't seen if he can pull in **** athletes, so I'll be happy but open-minded.

Right now we are in as good of shape as I think we could be in. We will just have to see what the future brings.
