Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College FootballAbsolutely - again!!!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College FootballLooks good on you though!

This is what happens when the suits are picking up the bill. Party at The Wopper!
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College Football"tradition, rivalries, history. Not money"
Actually it is MOST CERTAINLY all about the MONEY that's why it is played on December 10th with no competition-maybe there is a compromise to give the game its own window during the regular season. The tradition, rivalry and history is not diminished by the date a game is played "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College FootballI think it could be the featured game on Black Friday. Just give it its own time slot.
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College FootballWestern Michigan up 23-7 at half in MAC Title game
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College FootballDon't know how the ncaa can keep WMU out of the Cotton Bowl.

Maybe if Navy puts 75 on Temple? All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College Football
13-0 is 13-0 no matter how you cut it. While some will say "but who did they play?" I would point to the fact they went undefeated in a league where Central Michigan could only find 3 wins, despite the fact that they (CMU) were able to go to Stillwater and beat OSU (admittedly with the aid of a controversial call), a team that is playing for the Big XII Championship today. While I am all for advancing the cause of the AAC and can see the argument that right now Navy might be the better team, I hate to see an unbeaten denied an opportunity to compete with one of the big boys. Of course, if they win the Cotton Bowl game, the loser will talk about how they just weren't motivated and how it was a slap in the face to have to play lowly WMU
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College FootballPoints well taken except the controversial call in the OSU/CMU game. There was no controversy, it was wrong. But that does not alter anything else you said.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Navy -- the Rodney Dangerfield of College FootballI agree CP, but all of those points are used against the AAC in selecting the teams for the CFP and all are used in keeping the American from having an automatic New Year's 6 bid. Since I want the best for SMU and the conference we are in I want the playoff committee to recognize the American as clearly being the superior league. If the American lands the New Year's 6 bid amid controversies such as this one maybe they will grant us an automatic bid. Keep in mind that even if Houston had beaten Memphis they still would have been disqualified from the Cotton Bowl bid because they are not a conference champion. Meanwhile no one has a problem with Ohio State being in the playoffs without being conference champions. My issue is with the lack of consistency. There is no way you can say that Oklahoma/Oklahoma State and Western Michigan would be deserving of New Year's 6 bowls ahead of Houston if Houston had taken care of business against Memphis, yet that most likely would have been the case. The system is unfair all around so I don't care if Western Michigan gets the shaft.
