Matt Rhule to WacoCurious to hear what the Temple poster on here has to say.
I'm as suprised as he is.
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoAt least they got their 4th AAC option!!
![]() ![]() ![]() In all seriousness, not a bad hire for the Bears IMO - about as good (or better) as they could've hoped for or even deserve. Time to finally implement the Rhule of law in that godforsaken program. -formerly mustangband27-
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoDoes Temple go back to Al Golden?
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoI wonder how well he's going to recruit Texas

Re: Matt Rhule to WacoHe's a damn good coach. But this is a weird hire. Has only coached on the coasts and his offensive system is polar opposite of what they've run under Briles.
Pony up!
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoGood coach but super tied in with east coast and no Texas connections I know of -- which will make assembling a class for 17 pretty hard I would think.

Re: Matt Rhule to Waco
that was the first thing that crossed my mind. Well, after "damn he went to Baylor?"
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoHorrible move by him. He could do much better
Re: Matt Rhule to Waco
Yes, I was also stunned. I hope he is getting over $20 million because it is pretty much career suicide, but then again Scott Drew took over the basketball program under more dire circumstances without any history of success and has had amazing success. If I'm Temple my top two candidates are Al Golden and Greg Schiano.
Re: Matt Rhule to Waco
I looked. He never signed a single Texas player while at Temple. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoIt's going to be rough for Rhule for sure. I hope he scored a lot of payola from those people.
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoI find it ironic they hired a Penn St.grad.
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoMrydel, what's your thoughts on Rhule vs Anderson?
Re: Matt Rhule to WacoWhat type of salary was he getting at Temple-not listed in database I looked at because Temple is a private school. If I had to guess I would think Temple didn't have the type of alumni supplement to be competitive. He's a great Coach but I'm generally not in favor of hiring coaches outside their recruiting footprint.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
