6-4, 241 4.79 rated 5.4(high 2 star), Also had offers from UCF, Cinncinnati and North Texas State. I don't remember Rivals listing SMU with interest and this could be another case of a player whose Rivals rating was upgraded after signing with SMU-not sure- but he would be the first player ever rated 5.4 who never had a single recruiting story written about him all year long-he still doesn't. Very unsual. Must be Rivals' pro-SMU bias again right Stampede. Had 85 tackles and 4 sacks-Calls himself a speed rusher who is strong enough to stop the run.

The kicker from the same team was also in. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Stallion, does this mean that the kid can't play? Where else did he visit? UCF?

Good size! It wasn't that long ago that we were recruiting DEs who were 205 (Justin Rogers) or 225 (Kyle Griffin).
Welcome aboard, Jordan!

I am so impressed 3 commits. We are doing something right, and this program is definitely heading up.

So if this guy redshirts, he could be the size of Justin Rogers before he even starts his playing career.

Jordan Johnson was largely overlooked in high school because scouts and reporters fawned all over fellow DE Jeremy Beal, and not without reason: Beal's an excellent player. But Johnson is pretty good, too. The numbers you post from Rivals are almost exactly what I have (6'4", 240, 4.8). He's not a sprinter of a pass rusher; instead, he's sort of a hybrid of speed and strength. He takes short, quick steps and his feet never stop moving (think Warren Sapp when he was under 330), allowing him to react to an offensive play (or player) and change directions quickly, and also to maintain balannce pretty well against larger blockers. He needs more upper body strength, but he looks like he could add 40 pounds without much trouble, in which case he might follow Chris Parham inside to defensive tackle. His strength allows him to bull-rush blockers if he can't run past them, and would benefit from developing more of a mean streak.
